Baden-Wurttemberg with Bavaria forms the expanded Southern region of Germany. The best known tourist destination in this region are the Black forest with its sparkling mineral springs. The best known spa here is Baden Baden which is visited for its healing water. Freiburg is also called the gateway to the Black forest. This university-city has a lot of architectural work to offer, and a lot of south German atmosphere as well. Another older university town situated in the north of Baden-Wurttemberg is Heidelburg, the most famous place on the river Rhine.

Situated 60 km northeast of Strasbourg,in the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. Besides Strasbourg, other close by, worthwhile cities to visit are Freiberg, Baden Wurttemberg, Rothenberg, Hiledelberg and perhaps Stuttgart for the Porsche museum or a Factory Tour.Baden-Wurtemburg boost a number of exotic locales that includes Baden- Baden, Black Forest, Essilingen, Lake Constance and many others that are worth exploring.

Culinary Delights!!
The most famous amongst all is the Black Forest smoked ham, and the locally made Gansewurst, a sausage made from smoked goose, is worth a try. Lunch is light, there's a coffee and cake break in the afternoon, then a late dinner.
