The Stuttgart international airport (SGT) is an international airport served by most major domestic and international airlines. The airport is 13 km from the city. A 30-minute train ride will take you right downtown. Frequent train service connects Stuttgart to all major German and many international cities, as well as to smaller, regional destinations.
By Train
It is easy to locate the train station at Stuttgart situated at city center. You can contact 01805 / 996633 for information on trains. This service is available 24 hrs a day. The bus station is behind the train station.
Getting Around
You will face no problem in traveling across the city as it boost a good public transport system. You have the choice of buses, trams, the metro or the U-Bahn and city tram or the S-Bahn. Since there are many tourist spots to cover within the city, it is highly recommendable to buy a 24 hour-ticket, available for two different zones.
By Bike
Another unique way to cover the city is through a bike available at the i-Punkt tourist office. Bike transport on the commuter trains is restricted. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn also have restricted bike access times which should be checked to avoid fines from roving police. The ADFC provides maps and information on organized rides.
