Esslingen

The former Free Imperial City situated in the beautiful Neckar valley, surrounded by hillside vineyards. The 1200 years old is a delights for visitors with its winding, cobble stoned alleys in the historical Old Town. The major attractions in the city include the oldest complete street of half-timbered houses in Germany, old patrician and wine-growers houses, beautiful churches, courtyards, gates and towers. Tourist Sights in Esslingen

Esslingen Castle : This is the most popular landmark and part of the medieval fortifications, Esslingen Castle have the Pliensau Tower, the Schelz Gate and the Wolf Gate.

St. Dionys Church is the late Romanesque columns, high altar, tabernacle, choir stalls with fine stained glass.

The Frauenkirche or the Church of Our Lady: is amongst the earliest Gothic hall church in south-west Germany with stained-glass windows.

St. Paul s Cathedral: This is am is the oldest surviving church of the Mendicants order in Germany.

The Old Town Hall include the astronomical clock, the glockenspiel and the fine Renaissance fa ade by Heinrich Schickhardt.

Dick: It is a leisure and entertainment centre in a converted factory building from the turn of the century.
